Women’s History Month
Stronger Together
March is Women’s History Month a time to recognize the trailblazers, leaders, mothers, athletes, business owners, coaches, and everyday women whose impact shapes our communities in powerful ways. It’s a month to honor the past, celebrate the present, and actively build a stronger, more equitable future.
At Backyard, this month hits home. We are powered by strong women, in ownership (2 of the 3!), in our classes, behind the desk, leading sessions, raising families, chasing goals, and showing up for themselves even when life is pulling them in a hundred directions. Strength here isn’t just about what’s on the barbell. It’s resilience. It’s confidence. It’s community. It’s taking up space, and making room for others to do the same.
International Women’s Day: March 8
On March 8th, we’re launching our Give to Gain charity drop-in classes. All proceeds from the day will be donated to the Women’s Foundation of Massachusetts, an organization dedicated to advancing gender equity across the state.
HOW TO DONATE
If you’d like to donate, purchase a Charity Credit in the amount you’re comfortable with: $30, or $50.
100% of every Charity Credit purchased will be donated directly to WFM.
You do not need to purchase a Charity Credit to attend class, you can use your regular membership or class pack, HOWEVER, if you want to support the cause, the charity credit is how you do it.
Give to Gain strength.
Give to gain confidence.
Give to gain community.
JUST SHOW UP, we’ll handle the rest.
Why the Women’s Foundation of Massachusetts?
The Women’s Foundation of Massachusetts (WFM) invests in community-led solutions that create lasting economic security and opportunity for women and girls, particularly women of color, immigrant women, and low-income women across Massachusetts.
Their work focuses on:
Closing gender and racial wealth gaps
Supporting women’s leadership and civic engagement
Funding grassroots organizations creating real change
Advancing policies that improve economic mobility
By supporting WFM, we’re extending the Backyard community beyond our walls and into the broader Massachusetts community, helping create opportunity, stability, and strength for women everywhere.
