Showing Up for Our Community:

Backyard x Holiday Helper Impact

At Backyard, we talk a lot about showing up, not just for workouts, but for our people and our city. This past holiday season, we were proud to participate in the Holiday Helper Program alongside South Boston Neighborhood House (aka the Ollie House), and the impact made possible by this community is something we’re incredibly grateful for.

Thanks to the collective generosity of individuals, families, and local businesses, the 2025 Holiday Helper initiative supported 1,026 children across 343 families in South Boston. These numbers represent far more than statistics, they represent real families, real relief, and moments of joy that wouldn’t have been possible without people stepping up for one another

2025 Holiday Helper Impact

As a gym rooted in community, we believe strength isn’t only built under a barbell. It’s built through connection, compassion, and showing up when it matters most. Seeing our Backyard community come together to donate toys, clothing, food, and essential items reinforced exactly why we do what we do.

One message shared through the Holiday Helper Impact Report said it best:

“Thank you for thinking of us, for your support, and for bringing so much joy into our home. We will always be deeply grateful.”

To everyone who donated, supported, or helped spread the word, thank you for helping us help others. This is community strength in action and we couldn’t be prouder to be part of it.

Thank you for showing up.
