HYROX Boston: SkiErg
You Can’t Out-Muscle Bad Form: Let’s Talk SkiErg
Let’s be honest: the SkiErg is humbling. It rewards efficiency, punishes ego, and will absolutely call out sloppy form—especially during a HYROX race.
Too many athletes try to muscle their way through it with flailing arms and sheer willpower. But the truth is, you can’t out-muscle bad form. Not here. Not on race day. Not if you’re looking to perform (and recover) like an athlete.
Here’s Where to Start:
✅ Fix the hinge – The power comes from your hips. Lead with that, not your arms.
✅ Smooth the pull – Wild, jerky reps won’t get you faster. Focus on control, tempo, and rhythm.
✅ Breathe with intention – If your breath is out of sync, your form probably is too.
