Your main objective while working the desk is always the customer. Backyard Boston is a place where GRIT meets PLAY and hard work is understood rather than repeatedly requested. A place where there is a greater purpose in being there and that purpose is both known and supported by everyone else. It is our goal at Backyard Boston to create an inclusive gym environment where everyone feels welcome. You are not only an extension of our vision, but the front line.

Tasks and responsibilities will vary based on the shift. Below you will find a general overview.

Responsibilities Include:

Customer Focused Tasks

  • Providing all first time customers with a brief tour of the space & making sure they download the Backyard App 

  • Assisting training staff with checking in customers to class 

  • Greeting customers by name whenever possible

  • Assisting customers with any booking issues

  • Providing any information regarding services we offer

  • Notify management of any customer related issues 

  • Answering the phone

  • Validating parking tickets

Gym Focused Tasks

  • Helping the training staff maintain a clean and organized space

  • Folding and refilling towels

  • Emptying dirty towel bins 

  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the front desk, changing area, locker room, sauna, cold plunge and restrooms.

  • Keeping an eye on inventory of wipes, toiletries, paper products, towels, first aid etc. and update the inventory sheet as needed
